The Utah Chapter of FNAWS has just purchased some range seeding equipment as an experiment to do range restoration on a small scale. This equipment can be pulled by a 4WD ATV.
Our intent is to do seeding on range that has been burned or just need some new life to overcome cheat grasses.
We will be getting approval from the B.L.M. For the type of seed to be used on the Stansbury Mountains area and the Newfoundland Mtns. The DWR has had the foresight to purchase seed at last years prices so the costs will be significent lower for these projects. Thanks DWR, for your continued support of our sheep program.
With the capture of California Big Horns off of Antelope Island to supplement our herds, we will need to develop water sources on both the Stansbury and Newfoundland Mtns. I believe that as we get started on these new projects we will be asking all of you to help out with your talents and your resources, like the good old days when we got blisters on our hands and had some great Dutch oven food. Looking forward to working with all of you.
